Questions about Jay’s SEO Checklist — site audits, accessibility, image optimization, and more.
-
Jay’s SEO Checklist is a comprehensive WordPress site health plugin included in the JakBot package. It provides Google PageSpeed Insights integration with automated daily scans, WCAG accessibility audits, broken link checking, security analysis, WebP image conversion, native lazy loading, an FAQ management system with schema markup for Google rich snippets, a call-to-action (CTA) system, and an llms.txt generator for AI discoverability. It gives you a central dashboard to monitor and improve your site’s performance, SEO, security, and accessibility.
-
Jay’s SEO Checklist connects to the Google PageSpeed Insights API to run real-time performance tests on any URL. It tests both desktop and mobile, tracking scores for Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO, along with Core Web Vitals metrics (LCP, FID, CLS). Results are stored historically so you can track trends over time. You can optionally enable automated daily scans (scheduled for 3 AM by default) and receive email notifications when scores change.
-
The accessibility checker performs automated WCAG 2.1 compliance audits on any page. It checks for missing image alt text, improperly labeled form fields, broken heading hierarchy, skip navigation links, iframe title attributes, button accessible names, positive tabindex issues, and basic color contrast. Results are stored and actionable, helping you identify and fix accessibility barriers so your site is usable by everyone, including visitors using screen readers and assistive technology.
-
Yes. The broken link checker scans your site for dead internal and external links. It automatically queues links for checking when posts are saved or updated, and can run scheduled scans daily, weekly, or monthly. The admin dashboard shows a filterable table with HTTP status codes, link type (internal vs external), and per-link actions to dismiss, recheck, or edit the source post. You can also receive email notifications when broken links are found.
-
Yes. The WebP converter automatically converts JPEG and PNG images to WebP format when they are uploaded to the media library. It also includes a bulk conversion tool to convert your entire existing library. Original files are preserved alongside the WebP versions, and there’s an optional auto-serve feature that automatically swaps image URLs to the WebP version when it exists. You can configure quality (default 80), maximum dimensions, and choose which image sizes to convert. The converter works with both GD and Imagick libraries.
-
Yes. Native image lazy loading is built in. Images load only when a visitor scrolls near them, which speeds up initial page load times. Smart exclusions automatically skip above-the-fold images (you can configure how many to skip), and you can exclude specific CSS classes. The feature works across post content, featured images, and optionally widget areas, and it adds the
decoding="async"attribute for additional performance. -
Jay’s SEO Checklist includes a full FAQ management system as a WordPress custom post type. You can create and organize frequently asked questions by category, display them using the
shortcode in accordion, list, or grid layouts, and the system automatically generates FAQPage JSON-LD schema markup for Google rich snippets and AI Overview visibility. FAQs support ordering, featured status, a sidebar widget, search functionality, and theme template overrides. The FAQ content is also indexed by JakBot for the chatbot’s semantic search.-
Many small businesses lose opportunities simply because leads are not properly organized, tracked, or followed up on consistently. A CRM helps centralize lead information, conversations, appointments, and follow-up activity so opportunities do not get forgotten, delayed, or lost. JakBot often recommends a CRM because responsiveness and organization are critical parts of recovering more revenue from existing lead flow.

The CTA system lets you add customizable contact call-to-action blocks — phone numbers, email links, and scheduling buttons — to your posts and pages. You can create multiple CTA templates with smart placeholders ({phone}, {email}, {scheduler_link}), automatically inject them at the end of posts, control which post types display them, and disable them on individual posts. CTAs also work with WooCommerce product pages and can be placed anywhere using the

llms.txt is a standard file (similar to robots.txt) that serves an LLM-friendly Markdown summary of your website at the /llms.txt URL. It helps AI systems like ChatGPT, Google AI, and other large language models discover and understand your site content. Jay’s SEO Checklist can dynamically generate this file from your pages, posts, FAQs, and custom post types. You can customize the content, exclude specific posts, configure caching, and add custom Markdown sections. It’s an emerging standard for AI discoverability.

Yes. The security analysis scans your site for active security plugins (Wordfence, Sucuri, iThemes, etc.), verifies SSL/HTTPS is active, audits for risky default admin usernames, and checks file permissions on sensitive files. If no security plugin is detected, it recommends installing one. It also warns if multiple security plugins are installed, since they can conflict with each other.
